Ahmed Hussen, who is the immigration minister, constantly states that the nation has a "strict and efficient system of immigration and border control," but a letter has been leaked where it makes clear that in fact, Canada has a backward asylum system and that in the same way "is not sustainable".
On the other hand, Barbara Jo Caruso, president of the immigration law section of the Canadian Bar Association, emphasizes that Hussen considers how to reform the backward asylum system but also does not give the necessary information on the matter nor the changes that the government of Justin Trudeau carried out regarding the situation.
