Stephen Joseph Harper is an economist, entrepreneur, and politician who served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada, from February 6, 2006, to November 4, 2015. Harper was the first Canadian Prime Minister to come from the modern Conservative Party of Canada, which was formed through a merger of the Progressive Conservative Party and the Canadian Alliance.

It should be noted that during the 2015 federal elections Harper won his seat in Calgary-Heritage, despite this, the Conservative Party was defeated by the Canadian Liberal Party led by Justin Trudeau, who was sworn in as Harper's successor on November 4 of 2015. After all the time since that, Harper was elected president of the International Democratic Union in February 2018.
