The New England Hockey Journal has awarded two honors to the ice hockey team of American International College. The winners have been Christensen and Lang, who won AHC honors from New England hockey journal.

In this way, NEHJ named Eric Lang as the Atlantic Hockey Conference Coach of the Year and junior striker Blake Christensen as the AHC Player of the Year in its May edition. Thus, these awards were obtained after a historic campaign in which the team won its first regular season of AHC and Championship Championship titles and defeated the University №1 of the State of St. Cloud in its debut in the NCAA tournament in Fargo, North Dakota.

Notably, Lang has already been praised at the conference and nationally, earning the honor of AHC Coach of the Year and being named National Coach of the Year by College Hockey News. He was a finalist for the AHCA Spencer Penrose Award. In fact, he said,” It’s a team award every time a coach is selected as coach of the year in any position”, Lang added. “You have to have an incredible support team and a tremendous team of hockey, I was lucky to have both”.

For his part, Christensen has expressed, “As hockey players, we work very hard in the summer to prepare for the season, so it’s good to see that hard work is paying off”, he added: “I’ve always said it with Individual prizes are not possible without playing with great players and playing in great teams, I love my teammates and I can not wait to see what we can do next year”.

In this way, for Christensen, the honor comes from the hand of a season in which he was selected in the first team All-Atlantic Hockey and AHC All-Tournament Team. He broke the program records for assists and points in a season in the Division-I era, finishing the season with 16 goals and 31 assists for 47 points, and was subsequently named Second Team All-American of AHCA.
