Jordan Peterson a Canadian clinical psychologist and a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto. His main areas of study are in abnormal, social, and personality psychology, with a particular interest in the psychology of religious and ideological belief, and the assessment and improvement of personality and performance.

Peterson’s first book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, published in 1999 and his second book, 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos, was released in January 2018.
In 2016 Peterson released a series of YouTube videos criticizing political correctness and the Canadian government’s Bill C-16. The act added gender identity as a prohibited ground of discrimination, which Peterson characterized as an introduction of compelled speech into law. He subsequently received significant media coverage, attracting both support and criticism.

The impact of his most recent work

12 Rules for life exceeds two million in sales, YouTube (almost) its private domain, its ideas spread through all the old and new media. They were greeted and highly certified by one of the Camille Paglia, most of the independent minds in this age of thought, such as “the restoration of a peak period in American thought, when Canada was known to be a pioneer, speculative thinkers like the analyst of media Marshall McLuhan and myth critic Northrop Frye”.

It should be noted that they are about to start the end of the year book review festivals. In which the works of the year that passes will be granted rank and celebration.

There are those who consider these festivals to be a race without dispute, which does not require a contest, for the unavoidable election of the Canadian book of the year. Since, in fact, it should be 12 Rules for the life of the clinical psychologist and professor, who was once close to being excluded, whom his home university threatened to dismiss, and his faculty colleagues were more than willing to leave. High and dry when the canines barked, Dr. Jordan Peterson.
