There are millions of Venezuelans who maintain a firm position with a cause, support Juan Guaidó and fight for a better country. And is that on Wednesday thousands of protesters left the streets of all of Venezuela, calling on President Nicolas Maduro in such a way to resign. The manifestation lasted approximately two hours and this came about due to the insistence of the opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who has sworn in as interim president a week ago, assuring that the re-election of Maduro was a farce.
Also, during the manifestation on Wednesday, the citizens held signs that said “Humanitarian aid now!” and “ freedom “, and showed their support for Guaidó’s efforts to offer an amnesty to the military officers who leave Maduro.
A leader who returns the hope to a nation
Juan Gerardo Guaidó Márquez is a Venezuelan engineer and politician, current president of the National Assembly of Venezuela and partially recognized as president in charge of Venezuela. Since January 5, 2019, he has served as president of the National Assembly, being the youngest person to occupy this position.
On January 11, 2019, Guaidó announced that he would assume the responsibilities of article 233 of the constitution to call new national elections. After this, there was controversy over whether or not Guaidó had assumed the interim presidency of Venezuela.
After January 23, 2019, there is no doubt whatsoever and that is an open town hall meeting in Caracas. Where and by the attributions of the mentioned article of the Constitution, Guaidó is sworn in as president in charge of Venezuela. Likewise, he has already been recognized as president by Canada, the United States and several large countries in Latin America. Likewise, it has been recognized by the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the European Parliament.
However, Nicolas Maduro, who took office for his second term this month, accuses Guaidó of organizing a coup led by the United States against him. While the Supreme Court of Venezuela, which supports the Maduro government, has banned Guaido from leaving the country. This was after Attorney General Tarek William Saab announced that he was opening a criminal investigation against him.
Despite this, Guaidó remains firm and has called a massive march during the weekend.
