Donald Trump again makes his own and repeatedly causes a stir in the world, criticized the business practices that seem to be unfair, and criticized the United Kingdom and Germany for their weakness in migration and asked why their nation was forced to defend his allies, likewise complained about what is already a little repeated in each of his statements and is that for him, everyone is taking advantage of the United States. He assured that it would really be easier to negotiate and reach an agreement with Vladimir Putin than to deal with the US allies.
Trump was made to feel on twitter expressing each of his concerns and where he even mocked the Western liberal order built from the ashes of the Second World War, an order that has given the world peace and prosperity, in fact, according to the former vice president of the United States, Joe Biden, Trump would be helping Putin remembering that one of his goals is to break the liberal western order facing the Soviet Union and likewise symbolizes everything that Putin despises.
We are currently in an era of full employment, it seems that we are not on the verge of a war and in the same way the fascist powers are armed again, there are no paramilitaries waiting in the streets and many nations are much stronger than in 1930, but well Mark Twain has said "history does not repeat itself, but often rhymes", because there are contemporary trends that could be considered somewhat alarming as well as trade wars and millennial challenges, so could we be going back to the 1930s repeating some trends and behaviors already seen in that decade? An example of this is the infamous Smoot-Hawley Act of 1930 that imposed high tariffs for those US trading partners, an action argued in which that nation needed protection against unfair competition, this is very similar to what Trump said.
However, it is currently unknown whether trade wars left the same consequences as Smoot-Hawley, which only aggravated the Great Depression.
