Jordan Bernt Peterson is a clinical psychologist, cultural critic, and professor of Canadian psychology. His main areas of study are abnormal, social and personality psychology, with a particular interest in the psychology of religious and ideological beliefs, and the evaluation and improvement of personality and work performance. Also, he teaches at the University of Toronto.

He published his first book, Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief, in 1999 and is available for free on his personal website. His second book, 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos was published in January 2018.

It should be noted that Peterson has a YouTube channel where he publishes the recordings of his classes, among other contents. In 2016, Peterson published a series of videos criticizing the political correctness and the Canadian government’s C-16 bill. Through these videos, he began to receive important media attention.

A personality that causes great relevance

It is necessary to mention that Peterson became infamous in the wake of his protests against a Canadian human rights law that he believed could lead to prison if he did not use a person’s favorite pronouns. In this way, his star rose even further as a result of his popular YouTube videos in which he rejects the notions of political correctness and opposes what he calls left-wing intimidation.

Likewise, Peterson’s notoriety increased even more during the past month. This is because the University of Cambridge revoked his invitation to be a researcher at the School of Divinity this fall. The news of the invitation had been received with indignation. The Cambridge student union considered his invitation as a policy. They and others believe that he is an enemy of inclusion. That being the case, the reaction of many students and professors led the university to withdraw its offer, which Dr. Peterson denounced as a “serious error of judgment”.

However, not everything is bad, since it has caused an impact on people’s lives. I had a problem, I searched for answers online and found Jordan Peterson. An example of this is the experience of Rob Henderson, who is a student at the University of Cambridge. That being the case, Henderson when listening to his video, his subsequent decision to apply for graduate school is an example of Dr. Peterson’s influence on his millions of listeners. His other fans learned about him because he says that other aspects of life are painful but worthwhile: take care of yourself during periods of depression, for example, or work through marriage challenges. A fanatic even said that Dr. Peterson’s advice saved his life.
