KINSELLA: Liberals deserve a swift kick in the Butts

The Liberal Party of Canada, colloquially called in Canada as the Grits (the firm, brave), is the oldest political party at the federal level in Canada. The party defends the principles of liberalism and is generally regarded as a center party within Canadian and European standards. Historically it has been positioned on the left of the Conservative Party of Canada (on the right) and on the right of the New Democratic Party (NDP, social democrat).

Now, it has been said that liberals deserve a swift kick in the Butts

In this way, it is important to express that “Patéame” is a little known fact. Therefore, it is appropriate to indicate that the sign of “kick me”, which is usually attached to the back of an unfortunate soul or behind, for laughter, was apparently devised by the Scots who were happy during the sixteenth century. And they did it to celebrate April Fool’s. “Kick me” thereafter became so popular, that it spread to the British Isles and then to the rest of the world.

Very unwanted return

It has been said that this week, the Liberal Party of Canada attached a “kick me” sign to its collective keester and invited everyone to do just that. This should not necessarily be due to April Fool’s, although it certainly seemed that it could be. Actually, it is due to the so-called return of former chief secretary of Justin Trudeau and his best friend, Gerald Butts.

That being the case, it is considered that on the one hand, it makes some sense that Butts is back. But, on the other hand, it does not at all.

In this way, the emphasis has been placed on what is termed as liberal arrogance which has been repeated many times in Canadian politics. Likewise, liberal arrogance, that regretful belief that only they know what is best for Canada, and in fact are synonymous with all that is good in Canada, is considered deadly.

Clearly, liberal arrogance has brought down many liberal governments. It is Grit’s greatest weakness. And the return of Gerald Butts signals his unfortunate return, in marquee lights.

Consequently, it has been expressed and emphasized that Butts is back. Liberal arrogance is back. Therefore, they deserve kicking.
